Research Interests I grow C. elegans in the presence of a low dose of tunicamycin to mimic human CDG-Ij, then use RNAi to "knock-down" the activity of each gene in the worm genome one by one and see if the animals are abnormal. In this way, I can identify the DNA sequences encoding N-glycosylation dependent proteins. Some of these will be those that control the severity of human CDG-I and other diseases.
